About
the artist
my name is addison edge
and I have been a cosmetic tattoo artist for 10 years, specializing in microblading, hyper-realistic nipples and paramedical tattooing.
my favorite ways to spend time
are hanging out with friends, my boyfriend Shane and our sweet (and sometimes sour) lil hairless chihuahua Toxie Rotten. I also love thrifting, watching (and talking about) my favorite horror/thriller movies, painting, puzzling (1,000+ pieces only though because I’m very serious about it), and maximalist decorating anything and everything. Shane is a tattooer of nearly 15 years and he works just a few blocks away from my studio – I’m a little biased but his tattoos are absolutely insane. Go get tattooed by him, too!
my studio
is located inside Blue Fern Self Care Collective in the historic area of downtown Evansville, Indiana. I co-own Blue Fern alongside two of my favorite humans, Lindsey Deer and Anna Hood. Lindsey is a hairstylist and Anna does body waxing - come hang with us in our happy place!
I AM SO
GRATEFUL
that I get to do what I do, and for the studio that I get to share with people I love, and last but absolutely not least, the hundreds of y’all who have let me tattoo you over the past 10 years. Every day I spend at work still doesn’t feel real, but it is.
And that’s awesome. :)
THANK YOU FOR
BEING HERE. <3
people often ask how i got started in this industry, so let’s take a trip down memory lane.
I was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana and from an early age I knew I would end up doing something unconventional for my profession. However - if you would have told me that I would be tattooing eyebrows and nipples on people I would have never believed you. I have always been passionate about art whether it was painting, drawing, crocheting, or whatever other craft I was into at the moment - but it wasn't until I began working at Sephora in 2012 that I really even started caring about makeup at all.
I had also began working in 2010 as a body piercer. My favorite part about this is that I did not even really mean to begin that journey, and it ended up being the thing that would completely change the trajectory of my life. I went in to the studio to get a tattoo and while I was there I had mentioned that I thought it would be fun to be a body piercer - and after a series of events I was part of the team.
After a few years of bouncing between those two jobs, I just felt like I wasn't able to put my whole heart into either - and I loved each one so much I didn't know what to do. Once I decided that I needed to take the next step with my career I had found photos of microblading online and immediately felt pulled to it. It looked so real! How were they doing it?!
I had to find out so I did a TON of research, found a training program in Los Angeles, California, purchased my training package, booked my flight and then had a panic attack – haha!
Once I got back home it was game on - I was so excited to start my new adventure in cosmetic tattooing! Here are a few pictures of my very first baby studio, as you can see my decorating skills have also flourished over these past 10 years as well, haha. :)
fast-forward to now
I am amazed at where life has taken me! I have the most wonderful support team of my family, friends and those who I am so so lucky call my clients (especially those of you who have let me practice on you - y'all were BRAVE). I could not have done this without YOU!
There aren't enough thank you's in the world - I love you all. :)
